Introduction to Montessori
June 22-25, 2010 -- 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $825
What is Montessori? What goes on in a Montessori classroom? How is Montessori special? What happens in the different areas of the classroom? This workshop covers Montessori key concepts. Assistants, parents, administrators and anyone considering a career in Montessori will find this workshop to be an inspirational and informative introduction to the Montessori approach to education.
This workshop is a prerequisite for those interested in the Infant and Toddler and Elementary I teacher education programs who do not have previous Montessori Early Childhood training.

Montessori Assistants Workshop
Saturday, July 17, 2010 -- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $125
Give your classroom assistants a chance to broaden their understanding of Montessori fundamentals and recommended classroom practices so they can make a greater contribution to the classroom and the children.
Three options available for assistants in Infant and Toddler classrooms, Early Childhood classrooms and Elementary classrooms.
Vital Functions of Plants
Friday, July 30, 2010 -- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: $125
This full day workshop for Elementary II teachers explores the unique ways plants meet the same vital functions as animals: nutrition, respiration, circulation, support, movement and sensitivity and reproduction. The workshop and materials include a variety of teaching strategies and methods, such as impressionistic presentations with charts, content rich lessons with manipulative materials and scientific inquiry with botany experiments.
The workshop fee includes materials such as presentation handouts, impressionistic charts and experiment command cards.
