Infant and Toddler

Academic Phase

The year-round program for Infant and Toddler Montessori Teacher Education program has been enthusiastically received by adult learners.

This program has multiple benefits:

1) Highly experienced Infant and Toddler Master Teachers, such as Ginny Varga and Judy Joynt teach a curriculum that is specifically designed for Infant and Toddler programs.

2) Adult Learners have 6 days of intensive immersion at the start and at conclusion—but do not have to be away from family and work for long periods during the summer.

3) Adult Learners have continuous support during their practicum while their training occurs.

4)  Adult Learners benefit from the resources and insights of experienced faculty while they are experiencing the life of their classroom. The training is practical and applicable.

4) The course follows the arc of the school year, with opportunities for engaging and lively real-time discussions of development, phase-ins, conferences, transitions, etc.

5) Adult Learners create lasting friendships with their peers and provide a strong support network for each other during their practicum experience.

6) Two Friday classes enable Adult Learners to observe during the year cycle in addition to their observations during the summer.

7) Weekend classes meet from 8:15 am - 5:15 pm with 1 hour lunch break.

8) 12 Graduate Credits are available from the College of New Rochelle.

9) Faculty to Adult Learner Ratio is 1:20

10) 95% of all Infant and Toddler graduates seeking job placement after graduation receive employment in the field.
