Supplies

We have compiled the following lists of supplies based on the requirements of the courses and suggestions from previous students.   If you would prefer to purchase them once you arrive, they are also available at local stationery and office supply stores. 

INFANT AND TODDLER PROGRAM

  • Binders for handouts (2) 3 inch type
  • Dividers (8)
  • notebook if you like hand writing your notes
  • laptop or ipad for notetaking

You may also want the following, but don't run out and get it if you don't have it--wait and see what works for you:

  • Stapler
  • Paper clips
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Glue stick
  • Post-It notes
  • Plastic sheet protectors
  • highlighter

Optional:

  • Tape recorder
  • Camera

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM

  • Pen/pencil
  • Paper for taking notes
  • Four 3-ring binders; one additonal binder optional for other notes
    • 4- or 5-inch spines, depending on whether you choose to use page protectors; with a label pocket on the spine
    • Please bring two binders (for Practical Life and Philosophy) to the first class session
  • Index dividers (extended tabs, approximately 48 tabs)
  • Post-It notes
  • a water bottle with a re-closeable top labeled with your name

You will assemble a Language portfolio throughout the year.  The price for this varies from $75 to $250 depending on the source of your materials.

Optional:

  • Plastic page protectors (plan for at least 100)
  • Pressure stick index tabs, if you use plastic page protectors
  • Colored pencils, if you choose to illustrate your albums by hand
  • Camera, if you decide to take photos rather than illustrating your albums by hand
  • Computer and printer

Depending on your choice of materials, supplies for the Early Childhood program cost approximately $100-300.

In addition, many students find these items to be very useful, but they are not required:

  • plastic templates of geometric shapes
  • Montessori grammar symbol template (if you have one)
  • wheeled tote bin (i.e.: a ‘milk crate on wheels’)
  • paper cutter
  • highlighters
  • Nienhuis (and / or other Montessori material suppliers) catalogues – to cut up
  • computer
  • printer
  • camera

SCHOOL MANAGEMENT

  • I pad/lap top
  • water bottle
  • camera
  • materials from your school (e.g., brochures, handbooks, contracts)
  • notebook/journal
