Application Information

Admission Requirements for Applicant with a B.A.:

Infant and Toddler, Early Childhood, Elementary, or School Management Credential Candidate

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university as demonstrated by two sets of official transcripts; three current letters of recommendation; 350 word typewritten statement demonstrating:

  1. why candidate wishes to enroll in the CMTE/ NY program;
  2. a strong interest in the Montessori method of education;
  3. a desire to join the professional Montessori community.

Admission Requirements for Applicant without a B.A.:

Infant and Toddler, Early Childhood Associate Credential Candidate

Elementary and School Management candidates without a B.A. will receive a Certificate of Attendance or Certificate of Completion from CMTE/NY.

One set of official transcripts from high school or accredited 2-year college; three current letters of recommendation; 350 word typewritten statement demonstrating:

  1. why candidate wishes to enroll in the CMTE/ NY program;
  2. a strong interest in the Montessori method of education;
  3. a desire to join the professional Montessori community.

  1. Completed application
  2. $250.00 registration fee (non-refundable)
  3. Your 350 word typewritten statement (as above)*
  4. A copy of your Teaching Certificate (if you have one)
  5. Contact your last educational institution and have two (2) sets of official transcripts stating the degree awarded sent to the CMTE/NY office.
  6. Contact three individuals (2 professional and 1 personal) and have them each send one recommendation letter to the CMTE/NY office.*
  7. In order to expedite the process of students and staff getting to know each other, please send us two (2) passport size photographs of yourself. You may also send digital photos to photos@cmteny.com.

*Personal statement and letters of recommendation may also be emailed to applications@cmteny.com.

Application Deadline:
Applications must be postmarked one month before program begins. Applications received after this date will be charged an additional $175.00 late processing fee.

Policy for Transfer of Previous Course Work from other Institutions:
Please contact the CMTE/NY office to have this policy sent to you.

CMTE/NY admits students without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, age, national, or ethnic origin.
