Katy Watson

Katy Watson is currently an Upper Elementary teacher at the Montessori School of Raleigh in North Carolina.  Before this, Katy taught for seven years in an Upper Elementary classroom at the Miami Montessori School in Troy, Ohio.  She  holds a BA in English from The University of Dayton and her Elementary Certification (9-12) from CMTE-NY.  Katy joined the staff of CMTE/NY in 2004.

 


 

Joel Wilkinson

Joel WilkinsonJoel Wilkinson is an Upper Elementary teacher at The Homestead School, located at the director¹s century-old family homestead on eighty-five acres of fields, woods, marshes, ponds, and streams in rural Glen Spey, NY. He has 20 years of Montessori experience, including teaching at Penn-Mont Academy, Pennsylvania¹s first Montessori school, and an administrative role as the Curriculum Coordinator for the Wyoming Valley Montessori School in Kingston, PA. He has worked with the CMTE/NY faculty since 1995 and been an AMS presenter at national conferences. Prior to becoming a Montessori teacher, Joel ran environmental education and camp programs for the National Wildlife Federation, NJ School of Conservation, and the Princeton-Blairstown Center.

In addition to his enduring love of nature and the outdoor pursuits, he also has a passion for music and choral singing. An avid theater patron and public radio supporter, Joel enjoys guiding weekend trips into NYC to explore the museums and see the sights. He has been involved with a web site project and serves as a technology consultant. He holds an M.A. in environmental education (Montclair State University/NJ), a B.S. in recreation (Pennsylvania State University) and an AMS 6-12 credential (CMTE/NY).
   

Mary Zajac

Mary Zajac is currently the Head-of-School at Penn-Mont Academy. She has been with the school since 1989, teaching at the Toddler and Early Childhood levels and serving as Education Coordinator for many years. She holds an AMS Early Childhood credential (CMTE/NY), a B.S. in Elementary and Special Education (Penn State University) and a Masters in Curriculum and Supervision (University of Pittsburgh). Mary teaches Science and Peace Education for CMTE/NY and serves as a field consultant.
