If I don’t want to stay in a dorm, where can I stay?
There are two hotels nearby, the Radisson Hotel or Marriott Residence Inn in New Rochelle, NY. Of course, you could make plans to stay with a friend or relative. Off campus students are considered commuters and are required to pay the Facilities Fee and Day Meal Plan.
I live near by, do I have to stay?
No, of course not. But if you reside off campus, you will be considered a commuter and will be required to pay the Facilities Fee and Day Meal Plan.
Is there parking on campus?
Ample parking is available on campus at the Wellness Center. There is no additional charge for parking, as it is included in the Facilities Fee.
The Facilities Fee includes ID card, on-campus parking, access to class campus buildings, library, and Wi-Fi. The Day Meal plan consists of a declining balance meal card of $80/week for use for meals and snacks in the cafeteria and the on-campus Starbucks. The cafeteria is open during the week; Starbucks is open during the week as well as weekends and evening. The meal card may be used for any meals, snacks, or drinks at these facilities. All Adult Learners are required to participate in the Day Meal Plan and are charged the Facilities Fee.
Adult Learners who select dorm accommodations at CNR will be charged additionally for a Dorm & Dinner Plan.
The Dorm & Dinner Plan is for Adult Learners who require residential dorm housing at the College of New Rochelle. Single or Double rooms are available. An Additional $55/per week is added to the meal card. Dorm rooms are charged per day of occupancy.
What should I wear?
Dress is casual for all classes. Don’t forget to bring bathing suits for the beautiful in-door pool and work-out clothes for the gym at the CNR Wellness Center. We are within walking distance of the Long Island Sound, and have walking, running and bicycle route maps for students who are interested in those activities. You may want to bring a sweater—classrooms are air-conditioned. The dorms are not though, so be sure to bring a fan.
I don’t have an internship site, what should I do?
You’ll need an internship site to complete your training. If you don’t have an internship, call AMS to ask for information about schools looking for interns. We also suggest you make inquires with the Montessori schools in your area.
Can I bring my Parrot?
Sorry, no pets are allowed.
What are the class schedules?
We explore a tremendous amount of information in our programs in a relatively short period of time, so attendance at all sessions is absolutely mandatory. Plan to spend time in the evenings practicing in the environment or working on your albums. Classes will not be held on July 4th.
