Dr. Maria Montessori's vision, which we at CME|NY
endorse, believe, and teach is that
if we can change the educational experience of the child,
we can change the world for the future.
Her vision of a peaceful world began with infancy
and extended through the school years.
A Montessori school is not just a name, it is a place:
a place of certain practices that encourage
individual development, kindness, and peace.
If you are to become a CME|NY Montessori Teacher or Administrator,
you too must model and endorse that vision of peace.

“When I asked my fellow colleagues where they would seek training,
the undeniable choice was CME|NY.
My mentor has spoken so highly of the program.
She refused for me to apply anywhere else.
In her words:
CME provides each participant
with the access to the best Montessori Educators the field has to offer.”
—Allison M. Lynch, Newton Montessori School, Newton, MA
"One of the biggest strenghts of the Infant and Toddler course for me
was being able to meet so frequently
throughout the school year with the other women in the class.
It was the discussion about problems and successes between my peers
that I found very valuable."
--Emily Hopper, Year-Round Infant and Toddler Cohort 2013-2014
Out of all the teacher trainings I've seen,
CME is by far the MOST THOROUGH
and THE BEST PREPARATION for actual teaching.
Everything has a purpose and makes sense.
I definitely had to work hard, but it showed!
Equally important is how the staff members at CME
are so unbelievably caring and available.
It is incredible! Everyone's goal is to help you succeed.
I thank you for role modeling how to care
and how to help others with such patience and care."
-- T. Schulman, Early Childhood 2012
"The knowledge I obtained by attending CME|NY allowed me to build
on the Montessori foundation I already had.
The strength of the experience has been the rich connections I made.
CMSM provided me with much more than Montessori certification,
it expanded my bank of "human resources" who I can--and frequently do--
call on when I am in a quandary and need advice.
The format of bringing in experts from various schools
is an essential piece to help our Montessori community
become the one strong educational choice our children deserve."
--M. Horan, Principal, Bunch Montessori Early Childhood Center, Fort Wayne, IN
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your wisdom and experience with us.
I have grown through the CME|NY training this summer."
--Lida, Early Childhood Summer 2012
“I felt so supported by the field consultant visits during my practicum.
After all I had learned during the training, I was grateful to have
such a supportive team of master teachers and administrators coming to my school
and helping us take the steps we needed to move forward.
I didn't feel as if I was doing it all alone,
and that made such a difference to my practicum experience being a success.
Thank you!”– 2012 CMSM graduate
"This is a well-organized program that captures the interest of students by providing well-structured Montessori lesson plans with interesting and beautiful materials (many of which are teacher-made).
The staff is always available and helpful.
The instructors are experienced, caring, and respectful.
The method excites our motivation for learning.
I think the (people who developed this program) care very much
about preparing teachers who will make a difference in the educational system.
The program requires hours of hard work but never ceases at being exciting and engaging.
It is Wonderful!" --B. Quintanilla Summer 2011
"The new schedule for the Infant and Toddler training
allows me to spend more time with my children this summer.
I have to thank the staff and facilitators of CME|NY
for designing a program which considers the needs of working mothers
who are willing to learn and obtain Infant and Toddler Certification,
but cannot be away from their families all summer.
I will treasure this training for the rest of my life. It has made me a better educator."
-Rowena S. Andrade, Infant and Toddler 2013-2014
"Without exception, I have grown exponentially, with each course,
each session, and presenter I have had the opportunity to work with."-M. Smetena, CMSM 2013
"I really like the Infant and Toddler schedule with the summer kick-off,
followed by the one weekend a month meeting, and then the final week the next summer!
There is an I/T program in my own state,
but this schedule works much better for me." D. Egan, 2013
"My observation was nothing less than an amazing learning experience.
It was so beneficial to see the Montessori method in action....
It was a pleasure to see the teachers give their lessons.
They were so personal and hands-on....
I was especially impressed by the knowledge of
routines and general respect of the students.
This, to me, is why Montessori education yields wonderful results
and turns students into responsible, caring adults."--A. Lavoie, 2013
"This has been one of my best experiences!
After my husband, children and family, this has been my new true love! Thank you!
—Amanda, Early Childhood Summer 2012
